Georgia Pediatric program (GAPP)

GAPP

GAPP is a medicaid waiver program that provides personal care support and/or nursing services to medically fragile children in the comfort and safety of your home- at no cost to your family.

  • This program helps people who are younger than 21 years old
  • This program serves families of children who are medically fragile and in need of medically necessary skilled nursing care and/or medically necessary personal care support
  • Your child must currently be receiving physician-ordered services to be considered eligible for this program.

  • First you will meet with one of our team members to complete consent paperwork and the necessary forms for the application
  • Our agency will prepare and submit the paperwork to GAPP
  • GAPP may take up to 30 days to make their decision (approval or denial)
  • Our agency will receive a notification once a decision has been made and contact you to start services or consult you on how to appeal any denials

  • No! Unlike other programs, there is no wait list. Once your application is submitted, Medicaid has up to 30 days to make a decision about your enrollment. As long as your approved, we can start caring for your child immediately.

Yes, you can! As of January 2024, family members can provide personal care support services to their medically fragile child if their child qualifies for the GAPP program. Paying up to 40 hours per week, this waiver can significantly enhance your family’s income while ensuring your loved one receives the best care possible.

Yes. If you already have GAPP and are enrolled with another agency you can completely transfer your services to us. We provide an easy and seamless transition to Little Love Healthcare and there’s only one Medicaid form you will have to sign to transfer services. We will have your services started the beginning of next month with no gap in your service.

Without transferring your care to our agency, we can supplement the nursing hours that your current agency is unable to provide. By submitting a shared hours form via Medicaid, we ensure you’ll get the additional support you need. You don’t need permission from your current agency to share your hours; however, we will notify them as a courtesy. The process is straightforward and hassle-free, and services will begin at the start of next month.
